There's Always A Star That Shines For You

I pray not for me my friend, but for you
That in everything you try, you do the best you can do
And that may come far and close for few
Despite the outcome, to yourself stay true.

I pray not for the shore, but the sands
That whenever you try, they may not slip between your hands
And that you gather some from far and distant lands
Yet when it's all said and done, you've gathered all you can

I pray for the moon my friend, not the sun
For in life that when you try, it is never done
And victories may come whether lost or won,
But for you; a star in the sky: there is always one.

I wrote this as I was sitting outside and gazing at the stars in the sky. I say gaze and not stare or look, because they don't do it justice. I'm tired of writing about things that have upset people and bring pain, I want you to be able to read this and get a shiver, to know that at times in your life, everything actually is alright. And even sometimes when I gaze at the sky and every star is hiding, I look out at the lights in the valley and I imagine that everyone is happy; because the truth is, I'd like to believe that there is good in the world, and everyone can climb into bed and what is seen and seems is not but a dream within a dream.
More so, don't just look at them, see them...imagine them to be the most fantastical thing you can ever think of, like the glittering of diamonds at the bottom of a river or the dashing tails of lightening bugs unstuck in a time of their own, unparalleled with reality. Let your mind wonder, and feel infinite. That's because the truth is we all deserve to feel how we want, and your imagination and solitude are the only place you can actually find yourself. Forget your troubles and drift away on a tide of empathy that brings you solely to where you want to be. There's an ether out there that we all belong to, and only a peaceful man can be happy with himself.
Reclaim your imagination, because it's the only true freedom in this world that we have.
